We started the season off playing at the All Star Warm Up Tournament right here at home in Livingston! The boys all looked so nice and boy were they excited!
Few Warm Up Shots!

1st Game of the Tournament. LPR Tigers against the Slidell Bull Dogs. 9AM!
Slidell had first bat! First hit of the game and Hunter Bethel caught the pop up! And the catching doesn't stop there! Hunter caught 2 pop ups the very first inning, and he almost had 3! Way to go Hunter!

Cute Hunter story! Logan's mom Anna, asked Hunter how he got so good at catching the ball at such a young age....he says...well, I have 2 brothers that are older than me and I started playing baseball with them when I was really little and well they couldn't throw that good, so I had to learn to dive and stretch to catch that ball! Love that! Well, looks like that practice is paying off! Keep It Up Hunter!

That's Hunter Bethel in action below...Maybe next time we'll actually get a shot of one of his catches!

And the Fly Catches didn't stop with Hunter! I'm learning if your last name is McSwain...you can pretty much play ball, and boy is ole Brant McSwain fun to watch....It's just natural to him!

Congrats to Brant for catching 3 fly balls during that game!
Boys, those catches stop them from scoring! Keep it Up!

All of our Little Tigers did an excellent job of hitting the ball!

Few Swingin Shots!

I want to give a shout out to Brent Cobb. The first 2 times Brent went up to bat....the hits didn't result in successful runs to 1st base...in other words he got out, and I don't usually mention the negatives when I blog, but I wanted to mention...that those outs didn't get him down. He got up for his 3rd bat and hit the fire out of it....he rounded the bases...all the way to third base, but he was a little short and it resulted in an out....but Brent....your hit scored 2 runs, and even though you got out...we really needed those runs! So, Kuddos to Brent on the triple that scored 2 runs!
We beat those Bull Dogs! Started the Season out with a Win!
Go Tigers...we're proud of you!
But, then the rain arrived...putting a stop to the afternoon game schedule! Head to the house and gear up for a long day on Sunday!

Game 2. Our pull of the draw resulted in Tigers against the Bull Dogs... Sunday 9AM!

Round 2!!
1st inning of the game...We really needed to stop them from scoring their 7 runs....
They had 5 runs and a runner on third and a runner on 1st. We just needed one more out....
Ball was hit to third base... Braden fielded the ball and then made a beautiful throw to first, where Wyatt made the catch....that' was a wrap...we held them at 5! And those of you you don't think throws are beautiful from third to first.....when you have a 6 year old out there.....they become beautiful! Kuddos to you Braden and Wyatt. Awesome Teamwork! Of course I don't have a pic of those actual events, but there's a pic of Braden fielding another ball with Brant!

Our Tigers did some aggressive base running during this game!

Shout out to Brent on a slide into 2nd base... We had 2 outs and really needed to stay alive and he made that happen! Sure wish I had a pic Bud!

Few Pics!

Are they going to catch? Eyes on Ball at this point!

Final Chuckle from this game!

The ball was hit around third base... There was a runner on 2nd base....Just had to tag the runner for the out! Braden wabbled the ball a bit, but finally got it in his hands just in time for the tag...but he accidentally tagged Abedn! And, that's how we know they are all only 6 years old! In practice, that would have been out Braden! Good Try!

Geaux Tigers... We won again against the Bull Dogs!
Win #2 for the Tigers down in the books!

Game 3!

We played the Slidell Prodigies at 3:15 on Sunday...Ended up being more like 5:00. They were running pretty behind....and boy was it a hot wait! We pulled out the Florida Water for this game! Here's how much I know about Florida Water. I stop at Walgreens to pick some up...looking down the bottled water aisle!

I missed some of this game, but thanks to Mrs. Pat for keeping the book and for taking some notes for me!

Tiger Highlights

Kuddos to Brant for starting this game out with a bang! He caught the first out of the game...we were on our way!

And Way to go to Braden....outs at home plate always make us cheer extra loud in the stands! Way to be there for the tag!

Woo Hoo Abedn! Abedn caught 2 fly balls.....making 2 outs!

And Way to Go Hunter with a Triple!

We came up short this game, but we really had this one in the bag....we'll get those Prodigies next time!

Game 4 against Live Oak Eagles.

Tiger Highlights

We started this game strong.... Abedn and Wyatt teamed up for the opening out at 1st base. Then, Brant caught the next 2 outs, and boy was he grinning...go ahead and grin buddy...you deserve it!

Held them at 4!

Then, things got ugly in the 2nd and 3rd inning... We had some close calls that should have gone our way. I jotted down a few things...I was hearing from the stands....

"Get the Book, if you don't know the rules"

"Are we playing football"

We only got one out during these 2 innings b/c of these calls....therefore...they got their 7 runs.

I can honestly say I was disappointed in calling. It started bad at 9AM. One player during the Bull Dogs game....2 strikes, then hit a foul ball....that should have been an out at the plate!

Lets close this post on a positive!

Woo Hoo! One Final Congrats to Brent Cobb for his Homerun against the Eagles!
Way to Whack it Brent!
We came up short that game, but we're ready to try again next weekend!
See ya next weekend!

Don't you just love Hunter's arm around Brant! So Cute! Love That! I know, I know...you aren't suppose to have cute in baseball!
